France travelogue The Beautiful City of Rennes

Hello, this is moca.

This time, I would like to introduce Rennes, the town where we stopped to go to Mont Saint-Michel.

Rennes is the starting point to Mont Saint-Michel, and although we just stopped in the city of Rennes, we decided to take a walk around the hotel at sunset. 🐾

Beautiful city of Rennes

It was a different landscape to Paris, as the area around the station was lined with modern buildings, We planned to explore the area for a little while.

However, I was surprised when I proceeded to the back streets lined with residential areas,
I was surprised to see a lot of classic buildings.

I walked quickly towards the end of the street and found that there were many museums and churches lining the street, I was so engrossed in taking photos that I ended up spending about two hours walking around.

The cobbled streets are lined with churches and cafés.

The Church of Saint Germain was also free to visit.

The scenery, buildings, residential areas, gardens and everything else that you can’t see in Japan seemed to captivate me.
The trees lining the riverside seemed fresh and the quiet town was a nice change from Paris.

However, we only saw the area lined with stone pavilions, It seems that there is also an old town with wooden houses.

If you do stop by, we recommend you explore the back streets as well.
Rennes was a city with a lot to see and do.

Rennes railway station

A bronze statue of a horse in front of the station. It is a somewhat strange statue, but I couldn’t help but look at it.
It stands so still that it catches the eye from a distance.

And here is an image of the Rennes station.
A Japanese company was involved in the construction of the station.

The façade is said to have been designed to resemble the fog and trees that symbolise the Brittany region; it was made of ETFE film and was a lovely space, brightly lit during the day and illuminated at night. It glows purple and is fantastic.

When we got to this area, we did not see any pickpockets and felt safe walking around.
Also, unlike in Paris, the hotel receptionists were all smiling and helpful. (Laughs)
I guess people in the countryside are kind everywhere (laughs).
