Warabino Tea House
Located halfway up Mt. Wakasugi in Sasaguri Town, Fukuoka Prefecture, about a
30-minute drive from Fukuoka City.
After passing through the residential area from the main street and up the mountain road for a while, a large glass building catches your eye.
We went there without a reservation and there were already 8 cars waiting for parking and we were the 9th car waiting in line.
But 4 more cars with reservations arrived later and beat us to it.
There are two guards in the parking lot who will politely direct your car to the store until you are guided inside, and if it is crowded, you can pull over and wait on the hill in front of the parking lot.
And after about two hours of waiting in the car, chatting with friends, we were ushered into the restaurant.
Climbing the stone steps of a small path full of nature, we arrived at a nice entrance like a museum.
The interior of the restaurant is like looking at a work of art and is very elegant.
After passing through the liberating lobby and up the stairs, we were guided into the large glass-walled restaurant.
All chairs and tables are positioned facing the window for a view.
We were shown to our seats, which were on a terrace with a large window and a wonderful view of Fukuoka City.
Stewed hamburger steak
The hamburger steak in hot soup with yuzu and grated radish was refreshing and very tasty.
The salad was also hearty, with fresh vegetables, prosciutto and pineapple.
After dinner, you can choose from a wide selection of beverages, and we ordered a Dutch Cafe au Lait. We ordered a Dutch cafe au lait, which came with a large cup of cafe au lait poured generously, delicious fruit and sweets, and cost ¥2500 for this set and this location. We were very satisfied.
Next to the cash register, accessories and flowers are also for sale, making the cafe a very relaxing space.
It was a very enjoyable moment to get away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and enjoy the view, delicious food, and time with close friends in the midst of nature flowing in a relaxed atmosphere. Next time, I would like to make a reservation and visit again.
There is also a piano next to the stairs, and on some days you can dine while listening to live music.
On the first floor, accessories made by Milanese designers are also sold, and a very beautiful shopkeeper showed us around.
Very nice rings and earrings are sold.
